ACLU affiliates filed a federal lawsuit on April 18 to reinstate the F1 visa status of over 100 international students whose visas were abruptly revoked without explanation. The class action, filed in New Hampshire, includes students from institutions like Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design. Many students claim they received no advance notice, violating due process. Federal judges have issued temporary orders to block deportation in three states. Examples include Manikanta Pasula and Hangrui Zhang, whose education and employment were disrupted. Lawyers argue the visa revocations were unlawful. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that over 300 visas were canceled, targeting individuals allegedly involved in university unrest or linked to groups like Hamas.
