MOM & DAUGHTER FIRST TIME WATCHING TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES FOR THE FIRST TIME! Tessa (Mama’s Geeky) and Lorie watch Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines — and we were honestly shocked by how much fun we had with this movie! We went in with low expectations, but wow… the action is incredible, the humor lands perfectly, and the story goes in directions we never saw coming. And that ENDING!? We were absolutely not prepared. This installment brings in a new John Connor, played by Nick Stahl (Sin City, In the Bedroom), and we both really enjoyed his grounded, anxious, emotionally heavy take on the character. Claire Danes (Homeland, Romeo + Juliet) is fantastic as Kate Brewster — we loved watching her dynamic with John as their futures crash together in wild, unexpected ways. And of course, we were thrilled to see Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator, Predator, True Lies) back as the T-800. He brings that perfect mix of intensity, dry humor, and iconic Terminator energy we love so much. The new villain, the T-X, played by Kristanna Loken (BloodRayne, Painkiller Jane), is SO cool — terrifying, sleek, and powerful. Her “jack-knife” weapon arm had us flipping out, and every scene she appears in is full of tension. Key Moments We React To: The massive early car chase instantly hooked us — a wild, destructive, over-the-top action sequence that sets the tone for the entire movie. We couldn’t stop yelling at the screen! The chemistry between John and Kate as they’re forced together, the surprise attack sequences, the upgraded Terminator tech, the T-X’s terrifying abilities, Arnold’s unexpected comedic beats, and every moment where the story hints at the dark future ahead kept us fully engaged. But the moment that left us staring at the screen in disbelief was the ending — bold, shocking, and way darker than we expected. The reveal about why they were sent to the fallout shelter instead of stopping Judgment Day completely blew our minds. We were SHOOK. We truly had such a great time watching this one, and while our ranking still stands as Terminator 2 is better than Terminator is better than Terminator 3, this movie was a blast packed with awesome action, cool sci-fi ideas, and a finale that has us wanting more.
