Cleanaway’s MiniPak - RL00195

Moving away from the brand new electric rear load used in Newcastle, this 2010 MiniPak is the oldest rig getting around in the Newcastle contract. 195 began working down in Wyong doing C&I pick ups for around a decade, before it was relocated to Cleanaway’s Beresfield yard in recent years.

Tuesday is the largest day for Cleanaway’s rear loader crew around Newcastle having to do bulk bins in the CBD before moving over to Carrington to smash out the long laneways that not even the smallest of truck can easily fit down. Due to the 12 hour day, the electric rear loader (that usually takes care of this run) cannot hold enough battery to last the day. Because of this, they instead utilise this truck from the C&I section of the yard. Unsurprisingly the crew prefers this older unit over the fancy electric vehicle.

I caught up with this truck tackling the bins in Carrington early last month. As some of the clips show, you can barely even fit down majority of these streets. I must applaud the driver behind the wheel for absolutely nailing it past the car and concrete wall later in the video.
