The Alvin Lee Band with Mick Taylor was a powerful and legendary collaboration that brought together two of the most iconic guitarists of their time. This particular concert at My Father's Place in Roslyn, New York on November 28, 1981, was broadcast on WLIR 92.7 FM, allowing fans who couldn't be there in person to enjoy the music from the comfort of their own homes.
The concert took place just after the release of the Alvin Lee Band's album RX5 in October of that year, and the addition of Mick Taylor added a new dimension to the band's already impressive sound. Mick Taylor had recently returned from several gigs in Europe with the band, and this show on Long Island, NY was part of a string of East Coast performances.
The Alvin Lee Band with Mick Taylor featured Alvin Lee on guitar and vocals, Mick Taylor on guitar, Tom Compton on drums, and Fuzzy Samuels on bass. This lineup created an electrifying sound that blended elements of rock, blues, and jazz into a truly unique musical experience. The concert was a celebration of their new album, as well as a showcase for the incredible talents of these legendary musicians.

Taylor joined the band in 1969, following the departure of Brian Jones, and played on some of their most famous albums, including "Let It Bleed," "Sticky Fingers," and "Exile on Main St." Taylor is known for his bluesy and melodic playing style, which helped to define the sound of the Rolling Stones during his time with the band.
