This has been the most challenging experience of my life - I have been dealing with a condition called Lumbar Stenosis since I was a child.
Essentially, this means that I frequently lose sensation in my lower body, especially when I walk too much. In recent years, it has progressed to the point where my mobility has been severely impacted. After trying various non-surgical treatments without success, I made the decision to undergo lumbar fusion surgery. The surgery lasted for a total of 6 hours, and now I am in the slow but steady process of recovery. Today marks day 3, and am finally able to get out of bed and walk a little. It's hard to put into words how proud I am for persevering through this. The pain is unimaginable, unlike anything l've ever experienced. However, I am thankful that I went through with the surgery because I can already feel sensation returning to my lower body. I am incredibly grateful!
