Hopefully anyone who wants one and misses one of these will have one soon - supply is getting better, apologies for all the previous shortages...but a lot is learned about production and logistics as time passes which was impossible to know except through hard won experience. It is hoped that one day supplies of this pen will be very reliable for anyone who wants one.

The end of the barrel has a taper -- as if Ahab's leg that fit into the deck of the Pequod at various points. The clip is in the streamlined shape of the Sperm and Right Whales. The dual filler is akin to the pumps of a 19th century sailing vessel if self-filling....and a 19th century style if eyedropper filled. The flex of the nib can write as if the pen were one of those that wrote the logbooks of antiquity. Also like the Yankee clipper -- all is designed for dis-assembly/reassembly and the ease of maintenance at minimal cost to the user -- because any other design would be "un-Yankee"! Hopefully you will find it to be one of - if not THE best deals in fountain pens... I thus introduce the "Ahab Pen". At first a few pens are transparent demonstrators and the color known as "lapis inferno" -- but later more colors and patterns will be available.
