🏯 Punakha Dzong, also known as the “Palace of Great Happiness,” is Bhutan’s largest and most beautiful fortress, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Built in the 17th century, this stunning structure served as the former capital of Bhutan and is still one of the most important religious and historical sites in the country. Its majestic architecture, intricate woodwork, and serene surroundings make it one of the most photogenic spots in all of Bhutan.

🌄 Dochula Pass, located between Thimphu and Punakha at an altitude of 3,100 meters, offers 360-degree panoramic views of the Himalayan mountains. It’s home to 108 memorial chortens (stupas) built in honor of Bhutanese soldiers, surrounded by fluttering prayer flags and cool mountain breezes. On a clear day, you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Eastern Himalayas — truly a sight to remember!
