Natasha Resumes, Calls Akpabio A Dictator + Remi Tinubu Raises N20BN, Peter Obi Reacts+Trump|OjyOkpe

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan had a dramatic return to the National Assembly on Tuesday after a gruelling six-month suspension.

The Kogi Central lawmaker arrived at the National assembly complex accompanied by supporters hours after her office in the senate was unsealed.

However, the hundreds of supporters that had gathered for her were barred from entering parliament and dispersed with tear gas by security operatives.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of running the National Assembly like a dictatorship and treating her like a servant. Some online criticised personal conflicts in the Senate, calling them a distraction from pressing national issues.

In other news, Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, announced that her 65th birthday fundraiser raised over ₦20 billion for completing the National Library in Abuja, calling it her gift to the nation and highlighting her passion for education.

The fundraiser has faced some criticism, including from former Nigerian Presidential Candidate Peter Obi.

Similarly the convener of the Ife Book and Arts Festival, Ayodele Ademiluyi, is suing the First Lady and asking her to disclose where the donations came from.

In the United States, President Trump arrived at the United Nations headquarters to an escalator that stopped working when he and his wife Melania Trump got on. He then opened his United Nations General Assembly address by revealing that his teleprompter was malfunctioning.

Finally, President Trump delivered scathing remarks questioning the UN’s ability to solve problems, called climate change a “con job”, and accused the UN of funding an "assault on Western countries" through migration.

At the same meeting, Nigerian poet and spoken word artist Maryam Bukar Hassan delivered a powerful speech that captivated delegates with her call for global peace.
