In this video, we take a detailed, step-by-step look at the complete overhaul of the VMT6 manual gearbox, used in Ford Transit vehicles.

The VMT6 is a six-speed manual transmission installed in both front-wheel-drive versions of the Ford Transit. Despite its solid design, over time it often develops common issues such as worn synchronizers, noisy bearings, and grinding when shifting gears.

In our case, the issue was that 4th and sometimes 2nd gear engaged with a noticeable grind, clearly indicating worn synchronizers and gear teeth for those specific gears.

This video shows the entire repair process from start to finish, including:
Full gearbox disassembly;
Detailed inspection and diagnostics;
Replacement of all bearings, including differential bearings;
Installation of new synchronizers for 1st–2nd and 3rd–4th gears;
