Reel 2. A film made for the Scotch Whisky association - how Whisky is made.



Highlands of Scotland.



Various shots of stacks of barrels in warehouse. A man taps the barrels to check them. Various shots of blending and bottling plant. Doors are unlocked. Casks are rolled on to the blending floor. Bungs withdrawn and samples are taken. Man in lab coat tests samples by sniffing them. Natural sound; man explains to camera he is checking maturity of pure malt whisky before blending them. He checks smells of samples.



Casks are emptied into blending vats. Man breaks casks with axe to empty them. Samples are taken. Shot of the cellars containing the casks. Excise Officer tests the Whisky.



L/S of enormous bottling vats. Various shots bottles being filled on production line. Top shot of the factory floor with women workers. C/U of machine capping the bottles. Bottles examined under lights and magnifying glasses in laboratory. C/U of machine that labels the bottles. Bottles are then packed into boxes and the boxes stacked.



Montage of shots depicting every stage of whiskey production, with an animated globe superimposed in centre. Various shots of the Highlands; waterfall, scenic landscapes, bridges, rivers and mountains etc. Traditional Scottish song on the soundtrack.
