From rotting decking boards to disintegrating iron roofing, I had quite a mess to tackle in the front end of this Victorian home.
I considered various styles for the front yard, including the classic white picket fence and flower beds, but I ultimately chose box hedges and decorative trees - framed with reclaimed bricks, giving the space that old English cottage garden charm.
The journey continues with the installation of beautiful sandstone paths, paired with an unexpected find – a vintage soap token from the 1920s or 30s.
Next up is the new Bullnose Verandah. The two-tone colour scheme, a blend of Basalt and Surf Mist, complements the Victorian style of the property.
The 'New' decking boards, salvaged from another old property, create a rustic and timeless look. Once sanded and stained, they will complete the front facade makeover.
But the front yard isn't the only area I've revitalised. Throughout the video, I share various external projects, including a new deck made from reclaimed blackbutt boards, post and rail fences, and a shed makeover that breathes new life into an old structure.
With all these renovations complete, the home is now a perfect blend of history and modernity.
