When I was a kid there was this very typical apple pie that I liked very much. I also posted a Dutch Apple Pie recipe, but the japanese one is quite different : it uses puff pastry. It is quite nice, please try it! Also check our other recipes on the website :

Ingredients : about 25cm circle pie
For the puff pastry
200g all purpose flour (T55)
50g water
40g vodka
20g unsalted butter - soft/room temperature
1/4 tsp fine salt
For the butter layer
120g cold unsalted butter - cut into slices
For the filling
3 to 4 apples - cut into small cubes (or 3 apples and 1 pear)
10g salted butter
50g sugar
1 tsp maple syrup - optional
1 egg - beaten
white sandwich bread - thinly sliced or 40g simple cookies like rich tea cookie https://amzn.to/2Ur970s - crumbled
2 to 3 tbsp apricot jam
Quand j'etais petite il y avait toujours cette tarte au pomme très typique et si bonne. C'est vrai que je post aussi une tarte aux pommes hollandaise, mais la japonaise est tres different : elle utilise une pate feuilletée. C'est un plaisir, alors essayez la!
