"El pueblo unido" is an emblematic song of social and political struggle in Latin America, composed by Chilean musicians Sergio Ortega and Quilapayún in 1970. Originally born as a "communist song" it became part of latinamerican idiosyncrasy and has been sung by many political parties and movements from all political spectres, for example in Venezuela against the socialist dictatorship of Maduro.
The song has been translated into many languages and continues to be a powerful symbol of resistance and hope for oppressed people around the world.
