Yoga Narasimhar Temple, Velachery is dedicated to Bhagwan Sri Yoga Narasimha Swamy (moolavar) in sitting yoga posture. Urchavars are Bhaktavatsala Perumal with Bhoodevi and Sridevi, and Vedanarayana Swamy with prayoga chakra.
Location: Lakshmi Nagar, Velachery, Chennai - 600042. The temple is situated around 1 km away from the Vijayanagar Bus Terminus in Velachery, Chennai
Timings: 7.00AM to 10.30AM and 5PM to 8.30PM

The original temple is around 1300 years old. Stone inscriptions mentioning the contributions of Rajaraja Chola, Pallava King Dhandi Varma have been found here. A bronze idol of Veda Narayana from the Pallava period predates the recorded times of this ancient temple. The original temple’s base – Kumudam- is installed separately, has the ancient inscriptions. You can also find the stone chains hanging from the ceiling of the temple making one wonder about the skill that artisans had to carve them, since they cannot be heated and reshaped like metal chains.
