Falcon Crest: Season 8 (1988-89) Cliffhanger (Richard gets arrested)

These are the final minutes of “Decline and Fall”, the eighth season finale of the 1981-90 CBS drama “Falcon Crest”. This was the 22nd and last episode of the eighth season (and 205th overall). The episode originally aired Friday, May 19, 1989.

Though not in this scene, this episode marks the final appearance of David Beecroft as Nick Agretti.

To get back at Richard Channing (David Selby) for kidnapping her and later committing her in the psychiatric ward, Angela Channing (Jane Wyman) teams up with Pilar Ortega Cumson (Kristian Alfonso) to work with the S.E.C. to make smooth of Richard’s financial ruin. And they’ve succeeded with the help of Melissa Argetti’s dead-ringer, Samantha Ross (Ana Alicia), who gives them proof that Richard was responsible for Angela's kidnapping.

The season ended, when Angela confronts Richard about putting his mother in the psychiatric ward. Richard tells Angela that she’s got her victory and says goodbye. Before the police arrives, Richard plays with his two sons, Michael and Kevin and his wife Maggie (Susan Sullivan) arrives to pick the boys up so they wouldn’t see Richard get arrested. Richard suggests to Maggie that she and the boys move back home apologizes to her for the way things turned out. As soon as Maggie drives away with the boys, the police arrive to arrest Richard who wonders if he’ll ever see his family again.
