This "tree to bar" chocolate is made by Baianí, founded by Juliana and Tuta, in Bahia, Brazil. Passionfruit and dark chocolate come together with a resounding crunch! This bar is a celebration of many things! Brazilian flavors, multi-generational farming families coming back to their lineage, and the shift that we need to break the colonial paradigm that maintains models of extraction and exploitation, by moving value add to origin countries!
Juliana and Tuta's family farm is a beautiful example of this movement, it is one of the most beautiful cacao farms I have had the pleasure to visit. Baianí manages to marry the cutting edge technology and science behind growing, harvesting and post-harvest, with the generous spirit of their culture and lineage.
