It has been a few months now that I have not skated my favorite cruising setup based on the Flying Eagle Supersonic 3x110mm frame, because one of the axles is not doing its job any more. Apparently I was tightening the axle too hard for the aluminium used in these frames, which eventually has damaged the thread.
In order to save these otherwise very good frames, I've found a cheap solution: put instead the Brake Axle from Seba GT frames. By adding a washer to get enough length I managed to use one of the brake-holding screws to fix the wheel inside the frame. Even though the thread of this screw is fairly thin, it seems hold the wheel pretty well. After short ride with a number of power stops, slides, and jumps the wheel is perfectly in place.
