Caden Cotham of Mt.Juliet, Tennessee faces a challenge far beyond his years—Type 1 diabetes. The 4 year old deals with daily finger pricks, insulin injections, and careful monitoring of blood sugar levels. Despite the daily routines and struggles, Caden meets each moment with a smile and the attitude and energy of a typical 4 year old. But, it's not always easy. He doesn’t fully understand the disease, but he's supported by his loving family and Breakthrough T1D, a national non-profit which provides effective solutions by connecting the brightest minds to advance treatments, influence policy, and improve access to care.
