Man of Steel - Official Trailer #2 [HD] - Alt. Music [inc. John Williams theme]

I've written new music for the 'Man of Steel' #2 trailer - which includes the original John Williams theme near the end!

I ripped the speech from the original, so I could use it over my own music, and managed to include the theme from the original superman music - it's a shame it's not going to make the new film, but it's loved by millions so I'm really happy I managed to get it into this version.

I'm really pleased with the way this turned out - anyone want to give me a job now please?

For those technically minded, I used the free VST plugin Kn0ck0ut v0.8 to rip the vocals from the original trailers (both #1 and #2). It did a surprisingly good job, but obviously I had to dial down the volume of the speech in my version, otherwise it was very obvious (rather than a bit obvious...) that I'd ripped it. I also left out some talking near the end, as it sounded really bad (as the music was so loud in the original). I don't think it impacts the trailer too much though...

Then, sitting (slightly apprehensively) in front of a silent trailer with a bit of talking, I used Cubase and a load of VST instruments to build up what (fingers crossed) sounds like a proper orchestra. I included a bit of real violin in there, but all the rest lives inside my computer. Took ages to get a realistic string sound, and don't get me started on the brass..

Only bit I didn't do was in the middle of the trailer, where superman takes off. I grabbed the SFX from trailer #1 and put them in there when he takes off - very effective I hope you'll agree, but not my work.

So there we go, might do some other trailers if people like this one, any suggestions?
