HISTORY OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE
Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of the most miraculous and beloved apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
On December 9, 1531, Mother Mary appeared to a humble indigenous man, St. Juan Diego, on Tepeyac Hill, Mexico. She revealed herself as:
“I am the Mother of all who live in this land. I am your Mother.”
She left her miraculous image on Juan Diego’s tilma—a cloth that has no scientific explanation and remains uncorrupted for nearly 500 years.
Through this apparition, millions came to faith, making Our Lady of Guadalupe the Patroness of the Americas, the Unborn, and the World’s First Lady of Evangelization.
