Kain is one of the earliest and most prolific morally dark-grey anti-hero protagonists in video game history.
And what a legacy he left: One of the most iconic and epic series in video game history, including Soul Reaver and Defience that Blood Omen layed the fundamental groundwork for.
The title of this video is a folie-a-deux, because Kain's Origin story is both, a gothic horror tragedy worthy of Homer (The ancient Greek one), as well as plagued by a troublesome and tragic development history.
Let's take a nostalgia trip to where it all began: At the good old Pillars of Nosgoth!
