Check out this new pre-alpha work in progress gameplay preview of the upcoming The Path into the Abyss, an indie title developed in Unreal Engine 5. We played the demo with a RTX 5090 in a 4K monitor (no commentary). This hardcore post-apocalyptic single player FPS shooter exploration story-rich survival open world game with a backdrop of cosmic horror and aliens will remind you of Stalker, The Eternaut and Metro! It features the difficult gameplay from Tarkov but in a persistent open world.

Description:

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic version of Buenos Aires and its surroundings, which have been transformed by a great flood and climate shift following the arrival of alien beings. You venture into this hostile territory, known as the "Abyss," driven by a personal story.

Gameplay Features:

Dynamic World: The open world is constantly changing. The map is divided into territories controlled by different factions, who are actively trying to capture land. Your actions can influence these conflicts, or you can choose to follow your own path.

Dynamic AI: All NPCs (enemies, allies, and non-humans) persist and are constantly simulated with unique personality stats that influence their actions. They remember you and can shape the environment, leading to a unique playthrough every time.

Argentine Essence: The game is noted for incorporating iconic locations, outfits, vehicles, and food from Argentine culture.
