Mary Jane Watson Is a Walking Red Flag!

Mary Jane Watson is NOT the angel people remember her as, and I’m tired of pretending she is.
In this video, I break down why MJ from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy is actually one of the worst love interests in superhero movie history. From cheating on Harry with a masked dude in an alley, to emotionally whiplashing Peter at a funeral.
Then Spider-Man 2 somehow makes her even worse. She gets mad at Peter for being late while he’s literally getting beaten half to death saving New York, strings along an actual astronaut, and then leaves that poor man at the altar like it’s nothing. Imagine planning a whole wedding just to get dumped in front of the entire city. That’s villain behavior.
And don’t get me started on how useless she is in danger. MJ’s real superpower is falling. Bridges, buildings, warehouses—she’s always dangling, screaming, and waiting to be saved, then turns around and complains about Peter later. Zero survival instincts. Zero growth.
By Spider-Man 3, she’s jealous, selfish, cheating AGAIN, and somehow mad that Peter is finally winning in life. At this point, Peter should’ve just dated Ursula. Cookies chaos.
