What is Pectus Carinatum?

Pectus Carinatum is a chest wall deformity that causes the breast bone (sternum) to push outward or 'stick out' instead of being flush against the chest. This happens due to the unusual growth of rib and breastbone (sternum) cartilage. Pectus Carinatum is also known as 'Keel Chest' or 'Pigeon Chest'.
