In this episode of Icon we interview world-famous photographer Michael Yamashita, noted in particular for his work with National Geographic.
Although he has visited six continents, Yamashita is best known for his photographs of Asia. He first came to China in 1982. In a succession of visits during the following 37 years, he has explored every corner of the country, producing a series of celebrated photographic works including "The Great Wall", "The Mekong River from Source to Mouth", and "Zheng He: Tracing the Epic Voyages of China's Greatest Explorer."
Yamashita tells Icon about his experiences when he first came to China, and discusses the changes he has witnessed over the years. He also shares his thoughts and advice on the advances in the technology of photography.
