NATURAL INK — Making Botanical Inks with Fruits, Flowers, and Moss

Bark (from various trees)
Pine cones
Moss
Avocado pits
Butterfly pea flowers
Rhubarb tea

Washing soda (A.K.A. potash or soda ash) was used to draw out colors, along with aluminum sulphate (or alum). Gum arabic was used to bind the inks onto a drawing surface to prevent bleeding, and clove oil was used as a preservative.
