For seven years, a highway that would connect mountainous Montenegro with the European highway network and boost the economy came under constant criticism – simply because a Chinese company was involved in the construction. In this episode of "The Hub with Wang Guan," Wang Guan does a test drive on the first – and most difficult – part of the Bar-Boljare Expressway to discover the truth behind the tirade. His co-passenger Jelena Petkovic, who's also the deputy manager of the project and knows it inside out, explains why the government decided to give the contract: "Because it was the best bid." Chinese Ambassador to Montenegro Fan Kun explains the significance of the "road of friendship," while Hei Shiqiang, general manager of China Road and Bridge Corporation, talks about how people worked as one on the project, despite their differences.
