Hey kids!!! Uncle Ben back again with Weekend Wankshop 156. This week, i'm going to show you my variation on the Poptarts Licks described in Troy Grady's incredible Cracking the Code lesson series! This lick is one that Troy describes in episode 9; when he wrote this lick, it started to unravel the mysteries of the downward pickslanting style used by players like Yngwie Malmsteen, Eric Johnson, Zakk Wylde, and many more for ultra high speed alternate picking! This lick exclusively uses even-numbered groupings of notes to make string changes a breeze if you are a DWPS player.

At the front of the video, i'm gonna give you all a little crash course on DWPS playing, then break down the lick. I'm also gonna show you a couple ways to take these concepts to create your own high speed shred licks!
