In the summer of 1979, ``Heavy Metal Nite'', a live event featuring commercially unknown bands, was held at the heavy metal disco ``Bandwagon'' hosted by DJ Neil Kay in England. The magazine ``Sounds'', which introduced self-produced albums by local bands, had a column announcing the top 10 bands introduced in ``Bandwagon'', including Iron Maiden, Samson, and Angel. The tour organized by Witch was the beginning of a series of hard rock/heavy metal (HR/HM) bands appearing one after another.
