Materials/Tools:
-3 mm or 3.5 mm crochet hook
-DK cotton yarn, colour 1(orange), colour 2(cream)
-scissors
-tapestry needle

Abbreviations (US/Canada):
-chain (ch)
-stitch (st)
-slip stitch (sl st)
-single crochet (sc)
-half double crochet (hdc)
-double crochet (dc)
-treble crochet (tr)
-double crochet decrease (dc2tog)

Body:
1. Start with a magic ring using colour 1, ch 1.

2. 6 sc in the ring. Tighten the ring. Do not sl st as you would normally do to finish the round but continue, 1 sc and 1 hdc in first st, 2 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st.

3. Drop colour 1 and join colour 2 in same st, ch 1, 1 sc and 1 hdc in next st, 2 dc in next 8 st (you will this way reach colour 1).

4. Drop colour 2, pick up colour 1, 2 dc in next 6 st, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * 5 more times (you will reach colour 2).

5. Drop colour 1 and pick up colour 2, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * 14 more times (you will reach colour 1).

6. Drop colour 2 and pick up colour 1, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st. repeat from * 5 more times. *1 dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from last * 2 more times. 1 dc in next 2 st, dc2tog, turn the work.

Head:
7. 9 tr in the 4th st from the hook, skip 3 st, 1 sl st in next st, turn the work.

8. 1 sc in next 2 st, (1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, ch 2 picot st, 1 dc, 1 hdc) in next st, kip 1 st, 1 sl st in next st, skip 1 st, (1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, ch 2 picot st, 1 dc, 1 hdc) in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 sl st in next st. Cut the yarn.

9. Pick up colour 2, *1dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * 2 more times, 1dc in next st.

Tail:
10. Ch 17, skip the last ch, 1 sc in next 4 ch, 1 sc in next ch together with the body’s 8th stitch counting from the the last dc of the body in order to attach the tail to the body, 1 sc in next remaining chains, 1 sl st in the same stitch where the last dc of the body was crocheted, cut the yarn. Weave in ends using tapestry needle.

Attach felt backing with hot glue.
