Last week I went for an overnight trip to Nina Hut in Lake Sumner Forest Park.
Nina Hut is accessed from the Nina Valley. The track starts at the NZDA Palmer Lodge on the Lewis Pass Highway. It takes 3-4 hours to cover the roughly 10 kilometers to the hut.
Nina Hut is located on a knoll about 2/3 of the way up the Nina Valley and has excellent views to the high mountains which surround it. It is a very nice 10 bunk hut that I shared on the night with a father and his two children.
