Today, I went to North Jakarta by KRL, TransJakarta, and LRT to explore Mall Kelapa Gading. The main reason I went there was to visit the Hoka store and check out the new Hoka shoes.

📍 About Mall Kelapa Gading & Gafoy, North Jakarta

Mall Kelapa Gading (MKG) is one of the largest and most popular shopping malls in North Jakarta. It was first opened in 1990 and has grown into a huge complex with five main sections — MKG 1, 2, 3, 5, and La Piazza. The mall is known for its mix of fashion, food, and entertainment, featuring more than 600 shops, restaurants, and cafés.

Inside, you can find almost everything — from famous international brands to local boutiques, sneaker stores, electronics, and a massive food court called Food Temptation, with hundreds of menu choices. There’s also a Cinema XXI, a bowling alley, arcade, and even a wedding center called Bridal World. It’s not just a shopping spot but a full-day lifestyle destination.

Right next to the mall, you’ll find Gafoy Kelapa Gading, a brand-new outdoor culinary and lifestyle area that opened in 2024. “Gafoy” comes from the old Gading Food City, which was redesigned into a modern hangout place with open spaces, tall ceilings, and beautiful architecture. The area covers around 11,000 square#indonesia meters and includes about 22 trendy restaurants and cafés — perfect for food lovers and people who enjoy relaxing in stylish places.

Some popular spots inside Gafoy are Osteria Gia (Italian), Fujin Izakaya (Japanese), The RR Chocolate, Cold Moo, Orasa’s Thai, and Mamitoko Desserts. The vibe here is very chill and Instagrammable — ideal for hanging out with friends, family, or taking aesthetic photos and videos.
