YSRCP Leader Pinnelli Surrenders: Political Earthquake in Palnadu District
YSRCP Ex-MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Venkata Rami Reddy surrendered before the Macherla Additional Junior Civil Judge Court in connection with the double murder of TDP leaders Javisetty Venkateswara Rao and Javisetty Koteswara Rao in Gundlapadu village (Veludurthi Mandal) on May 24th this year.
The Pinnelli brothers (Accused A6 and A7) surrendered on the last day of the two-week deadline set by the Supreme Court, which had cancelled their interim bail on November 28th. Following the surrender, the Macherla court remanded them to judicial custody and they were shifted to Nellore District Jail.
The Supreme Court had made crucial observations during the bail plea hearing, expressing astonishment that the accused had knowledge of case diaries and 161 statements even before the charge sheets were filed. The court noted the "astounding influence" of the accused and hinted at the support from certain officials, stressing the need for a tough stance.
