Kayak fishing on new water can be a challenge to locate a good fishing hole. What is the bottom like? How does the tide effect the area? Where are the currents moving? Some simple fundamentals on reading the water can help you identify potential hotspots. In this episode, we pull up on a sandbar two miles offshore and take a good look at how all of these naturally occurring factors influence the fishing. Then, we get into the fish as usual… you never know what can be running through the channels here.
