This evening ride will be the Caltrain Local Service 651 heading Northbound from San Jose Diridon Station to San Francisco. Due to the bridge replacement project between San Jose Diridon & Tamien, electric train services will only run between San Francisco & San Jose Diridon Station (South County Connector Services & Amtrak Coast Starlight trains remain unaffected by this construction project). And because of that, we’ll be starting off from San Jose Diridon Station.

Fun Fact: The name of this Stadler KISS EMU train is an acronym of “Komfortabler Innovativer Spurtstarker S-Bahn-Zug”, meaning “Comfortable, innovative, sprint-capable suburban train” in German. This type of train was originally known as DOSTO, derived from “Doppelstock”, meaning “Double Decker” in German.
