Discover the story of celebrated portrait artist Sarah Biffen. Biffen (1784-1850) specialised in miniatures and, despite humble beginnings, achieved great success and even painted members of the Royal Family. In this video, curator Katharine examines one of Biffen's works of art in our collection. Based on a popular painting of the time she discusses if this is 'photoshop' for the 19th century.
