Retford Park, located in Bowral, New South Wales, is a historically significant estate managed by the National Trust of Australia. The property features a striking Victorian Italianate homestead built in 1887, which was later transformed by the late philanthropist and arts patron **James Fairfax AC**. It's renowned for its magnificent gardens that change with the seasons, offering a visual spectacle year-round.

The estate is open to the public from Thursday to Sunday, with visitors able to explore the sprawling gardens, which are even *dog-friendly* (on leash). While you can wander the gardens at your own pace, access to the house is only available through a **guided tour**, where you can see Fairfax's extensive collection of art and antiques. Retford Park also hosts a variety of art exhibitions and events and is a popular venue for weddings and functions. Next door, you'll also find the Southern Highlands Regional Gallery, Ngununggula, making the area a cultural destination.
