Berdoo Canyon, California, is a great short cut from Palm Springs into the fun parts of Joshua Tree NP. With an eye to doing a bit of bikepacking via this route we decided to check it out. We remembered the water, but forgot the cramp blocking salty snacks. Dang it. This ride was done in late December 2020, so the weather was perfect, if not very chrismassy. We both had MTBs with 2.8" plus tires setup and tubeless. The first mile or two of Berdoo Canyon Road is also a freestyle shooting range.
