SKF European Distribution Center (EDC) miniload system

SKF’s European Distribution Centre in Tongeren, Belgium, was upgraded during the first half of 2016 with a “goods-to-man” workflow, which involves using automated goods retrieval systems and improved handling mechanisms. This results in a more efficient and ergonomically correct working environment and reduces the time needed to pick, pack and ship customer orders.

The Miniload in Belgium has the capability to operate a high range of light/low value product with a high throughput and outbound capacity. It ensures short routes of transport, optimizes the consolidation of orders and thus provides a high degree of quality and efficiency. The fully automatic small parts warehouse with about 40.000 storage locations and 5.000 different product references is operating at maximum speed today.
