While most people think that to appreciate and admire good literature, one needs to read, read a lot. In line with India’s oldest tradition of transmitting knowledge through ‘shruti’ and ‘smruti’and inspired from the Natyashastra – Bharat Muni’s treatise on the dramatics, Chintan Pandya has developed a concept of Vachikam – dramatic reading to promote good literature and make it accessible and enjoyable by all the walks of the society.
Chintan Pandya is an artiste (actor, writer, director) and curator as well as founder of Fanatika – an international theatre company – and TransIndus Foundation. Mr. Chintan Pandya is an actor, director and writer and has acted in or directed many stage-plays, television serials and films as well as documentaries. Founder of the TransIndus Foundation (2008) and Fanatika (2010), he has been the head of arts and culture section for the Alliance Française d'Ahmedabad (French Cultural Centre) for
as many as 13 years. He has trained with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and Central School of Speech and Drama (CSSD) - University of London through the British Council and holds a Masters in Arts, Design and Communication with Major in Theatre from the CEPT University.
