H0 DCC KATO TRACKS superelevated vs ROCO GEOLINE. Look how YOU BROKE ROCO tracks READ ANNOTATION WHY

Ready to use tracks on the market have some advantages and disadvantages. For example, Roco could do best tracks due the access to Austrian, Swiss and German science, but yet they do not enjoy to do that. Kato have the best tracks on the market which looks very effective and use all of Japanese experience in engineering, design and chemical achievement. But seems they get in a little trap of their DC and N scale competence. Before buying any kits, I recommend to buy couple of tracks to see it, you would be satisfied.

Anyway, please keep in mind that professional solution in tracks yet require to mount it without any fabric made bedding, just on the cork with plywood under it. So let's say all other solutions are likely temporarily for easy fun.

!!!!! Heard some complains that Roco Geoline tracks broke but didn't expected it would happens during filming... !!!!!

full DC and DCC voltage range thanks too great Roco rails (thickness is really good)
perfect availability! If you find "rare to find" Roco kit with tracks, exclusive locomotive and z21 set buy it! If you are lucky to find locomotive and black Z21 kit without tracks it recommended for buying as well! In than case you would get chance to buy Kato tracks
nice turnouts, easy to find a decoder
a lot of used kits

yellow old plastic look, boring monotone details of ballast
connections type, which can be move little by little
primitive plastic formula. Too hard plastics always broke when slightly bend, and you will see it on the video

ROCO should make tracks with more soften plastic with better plastic pigments as well.

This tracks has their market, but seems it is better for them to work out plastic tracks with changeable rubber or better... cork isolation pieces between rails and bedding.

** KATO UNITRACKS **

best quality, very durable
superelevated concrete tracks which simulate real rails angles, no chance to get it from any else! Moving trains with superelevated rails looks amazing!!!
great connection with Click fixation, not easy to split parts unless you wish to do that
perfect Japanese plastic formula with elastic characteristics which allow to bend a little
3D look due to sharp ballast details and different color pigments in the plastic, which simulate "each piece of chips" under different angle (shadow and light) - GENIUS!!!
time to time Kato publish great track plans with list of tracks and turnouts which you can use instead of boring ovals kits, or you can use free SCARM software from Bulgaria to your own ideas (as well for Roco, Piko and others!), just download picture with track list from KATO web or your SCARM project, buy and connect it as a LEGO.

16V maximum due to less thickness of rail, need to check your DCC station track voltage (main disadvantage but for many people is not a case)
some turnouts need to be prepared with soldering for DCC (just add couple short 24AWG wires)
more complicated decoder needed, like Zimo or DRM KI-AD100 (this one hard to get outside of Taiwan, need extra post expenses)
availability is not perfect. Some great new track articles need to buy only from Japan, cheaper and easy to buy all of it from this country
plastic became yellow with time, but not as ROCO GEOLINE. You can see my used KATO (slightly yellow) and new (pure grey) tracks
not an easy Kato websites. Yes, there is not only one, so you would be patient to find exact H0 unitrack web and pages, however when you get it you will be happy with great and user friendly design

Wish KATO to make UNITRACKS for 24 V.

CONCLUSION
I recommend to use KATO superelevated UNITRACKS for all type of trains except old steam locomotives. For last one you can use black KATO or ROCO GEOLINE. Also you can use ROCO if you will not move your tracks on floor, because it is fragile and could be broken like mine in this video. Anyway do not be shy to buy Roco "ready to use" kits with locomotive, z21 and tracks because it has great value for their price.
