No one uses the old-fashioned printed volumes of Encyclopedia Brittanica anymore, like we did before the internet.

It's too bad.

The benefit of encyclopedias was that they provided objective, unbiased explanations of just about everything under the sun. They were written and curated by bona fide scholars and, well, they were based in facts.

What people don't seem to realize when they use Wikipedia as their reference point is that it is a crowd-sourced medium, written and edited by everyday people, and replete with subjective biases and even untruths.
