Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are the best times to climb Mera Peak. There are 6,476 meters (21,247 feet) of elevation on Mera Peak, which is the highest trekking peak in Nepal. You must be physically fit, acclimatized, and have basic climbing skills to trek through high passes, glaciers, and steep slopes. From Lukla to Kothe (3,580m), the town between Lukla and Mera Peak, one ascends during the first phase of the trek. There are two routes to Lukla - one over the Chatra La / Zatra La pass (4610m) and another through Hinku Valley - but only one leads to Mera Peak from Kothe. It is usual for climbers to start an expedition from Khare village and acclimatize before climbing to the high camp and reaching Mera Peak.
