This week's project is quick scrap wood project: a rustic wooden trough. This is a great beginner project requiring minimal tools and simple materials. Plus, you can add to your home decor.
When our friend, Nicole Northgarden, came to do some crafting with my wife and kids, the topic somehow landed on wooden troughs. My wife volunteered my services to quickly build one for Nicole. Sometimes it's fun to build quick projects that are intended to be a little rough, for some rustic charm.
For this project, I used a 1x6 and a 1x8, cut them with my table saw and crosscut sled (though a miter saw would work just as well), and nailed it together with my Ryobi cordless 16 gauge nail gun and 1 1/2 inch brad nails.
