Gankeng Hakka Town Longgang is a small ancient village that was once home to the Yao people. It later became a gathering place for Hakka people. This ancient town has over 300 years of History. It became a tourist attraction and one of the first towns to enter a State-level culture and travel list.

This is one of the most visited ancient villages in Shenzhen these days. Many dwellings and ancient buildings are still standing like artillery buildings, bunkers, pagoda towers, houses and some converted to a shop selling traditional goods, souvenirs and foods so you don' t have to worry about food to eat around the area. The narrow alleys are like a maze going back to ancient times.

It's hot during the summer but worth the visit. So many trees and shops where you can rest if you get tired. Go there in the afternoon to avoid the summer heat. Night time is amazing.
