Destiny 2's Lore and Story tells us about a potential split between Premier Lume's Barant Imperium and Dredgen Bael's new group of Imperial Dredgens and Apprentices. This has even gone far enough that Dredgen Bael has openly predicted and planned for the great schism between himself and his Cabal allies. Using Six's powers of foresight, Bael has been able to determine that whilst the Imperium will fall apart, he and the Dredgens will carry on.
