Back in the old NYCDOT Days, the Q23 and Q64 (then known as the Q65A) were under Triboro Coach and Queens Surface. After the takeover, in the mid-2000s, they were LaGuardia and College Point Routes. Around 2011, Baisley Park started operating select trips on the Q64, and by 2014, the route was fully transferred over during the Winter Pick. The Q23 went to College Point Depot for the 2017 Winter Pick, after LaGuardia got back the Q53 in time for the conversion to a Select Bus Service (and Articulated) Route.
Fast forward to 2025, and the Q23 and Q64 have returned to their respective Depots, after the Queens Bus Redesign. The Q64 also added a Limited stop counterpart, the Q74, which follows the same path between Forest Hills and Electchester, then runs to Queensboro Community College via Horace Harding Expressway. The Q23 also has a very noticeable Reroute here, bypassing the Austin Street Corridor, and instead using Queens Boulevard and Yellowstone Boulevard to get to 69th Avenue faster. The other reroute is the one away from Corona Plaza (the Q14 replaced it there).
You'll see all 3 of these routes in action, taken across 2 Separate Days in July and November, along with the Q60 and many Express Routes. Enjoy!
