Shawn Marion has a typical "The Matrix" performance with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks against the Atlanta Hawks. Marion as the number 2 guy for Phoenix next to Jason Kidd was wildly entertaining and gifted Marion freedom on the basketball court.
After reading Jack McCallum's 7 Second's or Less book on the 2006-07 Suns, Marion's outbursts of unhappiness were shared throughout the book. My theory is that he wished he was the number two guy to Steve Nash instead of Amar'e Stoudemire and even when Amar'e would be out with injury, that never really materialized. Marion also had issues with communicating his feelings, why they seemed like outbursts. He would get pissed off about not receiving pats on the back, even though when he did he would have a smartass comeback instead of "appreciate it" or "thanks". Marion's inability to communicate effectively did not hurt the team at the end of the day, it only made the team aware of his unsatisfaction with the way D'Antoni and co. handled non-basketball related stuff.
Marion was the perfect swiss-army knife type, I liken him to a dollar store but more athletic version of Scottie Pippen.
