Kavadi Chindu in Bharatanatyam refers to Tamil folk songs, especially those by Annamalai Reddiyar, used as light, devotional pieces celebrating Lord Murugan or Krishna, known for their simple structure (no pallavi/charanam), emotional depth (bhakti/shringara), and brisk, rhythmic 'mudugu' that end Bharatanatyam recitals, showcasing nature's beauty or romantic longing with vibrant imagery and cultural themes, distinct from the actual physical 'Kavadi Attam' ritual dance.
