One of the key attractions of a show like Elmia Wood is being able to get a closer look at new forest machinery at work – perhaps even jumping behind the controls, if you can persuade someone to let you have a go.
On Farma’s stand, one of the main draws was the highly anticipated LF8 forwarder, shown snaking its way through the trees.
With the crowds thinning out due to a spot of rain – and bearing in mind that sales to the UK are due to commence this autumn – could there be a better time for Forestry Journal’s editor to discover what this green machine feels like to drive? Under strict supervision, of course?
